Weihnachten in Portugal/Almada

Hello, everybody!
We are students from Portugal. Our class is 7th – B and most of us are 12 years old.
We would like to share with you our Christmas traditions.
At the beginning of December, we decorate our houses with a Christmas tree - full of bright colourful bubbles and sparkling lights - and a Nativity scene – with models of the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary and Joseph), animals in the stable, the shepherds and the three kings.
We usually spend Christmas with our families. Some relatives come from different regions of our country or from abroad to join the rest of the family.
On the 24th we have a special dinner: we eat many appetizers and cakes and the main course is codfish with potatoes and cabbages and also roasted turkey. After dinner, some of us go to the mass (at midnight) and when we arrive home we open the presents.
For us Christmas is a season of love and peace and it’s a time when our families are together.
