Exkursion zur Bundesagentur für Arbeit

Im Rahmen des diesjährigen eTwinning Projektes ‚Citizens@work‘ machten sich am Dienstag, den 14. Februar 2017 nach dem Vormittagsunterricht einige Schülerinnen des Differenzierungskurses ‚Fit for Europe‘ der Jahrgangsstufe 9 auf den Weg zur Agentur für Arbeit in Marl.

In einem Gespräch mit dem Geschäftsstellenleiter, Herrn Trewer, und seiner Kollegin erfuhren die Schülerinnen, welche Aufgaben die Arbeitsagentur hat und wie konkret das Phänomen der Arbeitslosigkeit institutionell aufgefangen wird.

Herr Trewer beantwortete den zuvor erarbeiteten Fragenkatalog der Schülerinnen mit umfangreichen Informationen und sehr anschaulichen Beispielen, seine Kollegin gab einen Einblick in die Arbeit als Arbeitsvermittler. Insbesondere ist auf die Notwendigkeit einer guten beruflichen Qualifikation verwiesen worden, ohne die die Arbeitsplatzsicherheit gefährdet ist.

Im Falle der Arbeitslosigkeit haben Betroffene die Agentur für Arbeit aufzusuchen, um ihre Rechte geltend zu machen, aber auch ihre Pflichten entsprechend wahrzunehmen. Jeder Arbeitslose ist dazu verpflichtet, bei der Arbeitsvermittlung aktiv mitzuwirken. Die rechtliche Grundlage für diese Regelungen ist das Sozialgesetzbuch 3.

Die Agentur für Arbeit unterstützt auch Menschen mit Behinderungen, die nach einem Unfall oder einer Erkrankung ihrer ursprünglichen Tätigkeit nicht mehr nachgehen können. Eine besondere Reha-Abteilung der Agentur hilft diesen Menschen, Zugang zu einer geförderten Ausbildung oder einen Platz in einer Förderschule zu bekommen.

Und das sind die Eindrücke der Schülerinnen von ihrem Besuch bei der Arbeitsagentur:

Excursion to the Federal Agency for Work in Marl

"Last week we got the chance to visit the Federal Agency for Work in Marl and to ask the manager some questions about his job.

We asked him and his colleague how the procedure works when a jobless person applies for unemployment benefit. It starts with a short register of all important information about the person. Next the jobless person gets sent to a work agent, who will tell him or her about the possibilities and chances. After that they get more advice at certain helplines. During this procedure the jobless person also gets support through unemployment benefit. There are two different stages of unemployment benefit, depending on the position of the unemployed person he or she gets a different amount of money for support. Disabled persons have the possibility to do a promoted training and get sorted into special rehab-departments.  People with language problems and a missing education also get to special departments. Furthermore we learned that craftsmen like electricians have no problems with getting a new job. Doctors are also always needed. But the most time these don’t become jobless.

In my opinion excursions like this are perfect to get informed about different job chances and to get new impressions. It’s something completely different to talk to experts than to work information out yourself. An excursion is much more fun and offers the opportunity to get away from the monotonous group work at school.

Conclusion: From my point of view the excursion to the Federal Agency of Work in Marl was a great idea. We learned a lot about the reality of unemployment and the practice of how it is dealt with and about employment for our future. Asking the manager questions about his job was much better than to search for information on various web pages."

"On February 14th, 2017 we, that is five other students and me with my teacher from the course ‚Fit for Europe‘ in which we run our eTwinning project called ‚Citizens@work‘, went to the federal agency for work. There we were able to ask our questions.

We have learned that the federal agency for work not only helps people who do not find work or have been given notice etc., but also helps people with disabilities. Every unemployed person is obliged to actively participate in the process of finding new employment. If they do not fulfil their duties, then even the unemployed person cannot get the unemployment benefit for a certain time. We got an insight into how the federal agency works with the unemployed, what you have to consider and what skills you have to have for the respective job."
